Why Build a Coalition

Heart Disease is the number one cause of death in Texas. In 2010, 1,659,607 or 6.6% of Texans reported having heart disease and 38,000 Texans died due to heart disease that same year. Yet there are no standards of care or certification process for STEMI referral centers and STEMI receiving centers.

How It Makes a Difference

Effective coordination between EMS systems and hospitals to provide the highest level of cardiac care, improve door to balloon times, establish a statewide STEMI registry, and develop a resilient framework for STEMI center certification and designation.

Welcome to the Coalition

Welcome the The Texas Heart Attack Coalition. Together we serve to educate legislators and promote legislation enabling a statewide cardiac system of care.

This coalition is comprised of cardiologists, emergency physicians, nurses, paramedics and other clinicians involved in the care of the STEMI patient. If you would like to become a member, please contact us and subscribe to the email distribution list. We are dedicated to the providing our members and interested parties with:
